Desire mapping a word for 2025

Vibrant: full of energy and enthusiasm; pulsating; bright and striking; strong or resonating.

This is my word for 2025.

Each year, I have loved choosing a word to start my new year.  However, this year, I really took time to feel into my word.  I started reading the book The Desire Map Experience by Danielle LaPorte, which helps you examine your desired core feelings.  Instead of crafting goals and intentions for the year related to what you want to “do,” this book and workbook helps you focus on how you want to “feel.”  After all, when you think about it, the reason we want to do something or have something is always related to the feeling that it brings.

So, I took several weeks leading up to the new year crafting a list of feeling words that represented how I want to feel related to several different areas of my life.  I explored what I want to feel in my lifestyle and livelihood, my relationships, my spiritual life, and my health and well being.  I dove into definitions and synonyms of the words that were listed.  I sat and felt the words in my body and allowed my sacral response to give me an indication of a yes or no.  Then, I looked at the circled words across the different areas of my life and found connections between them.

It was interesting to me how the words I had chosen were beautifully weaved together.

Fluid

Freedom

Vivid

Clear

Vibrant

When it came to my body and wellness this year, I had landed on the word “fluid.”  I want my relationship with nutrition, exercise and health to have a flow for me.  I want to feel that my communion with these things really brings a flow to my life.  I pictured this as a lightness and playfulness.  I want to find joy in the process and be able to listen to what my body is asking of me.

In my lifestyle and livelihood (career, travel, hobbies, etc), I chose the word “freedom.”  I really want to expand and step out of the box this year.  I want to explore options and open up opportunities for change that will allow me to experience choice, have personal liberty and ease and a sense of adventure.

In the area of creativity and learning I chose the word “clear.”  As a Mani Gen, I know I am multi-passionate and I also have the 11th gate of Ideas in my unconscious earth sign which has really opened itself up to me in the past year.  I’ve chosen to step into the beautiful energy of following my sacral response to many ideas and respond.  This has generated its own desire to learn more about a multitude of things.  While this feels free and expansive, I also can feel a bit absent of clarity.  I want to continue the path of creation and learning this year with a new sense of clarity that connects my ideas in impactful ways.

My word for the area of relationships was “vivid.”  The synonyms that came up for this word really brought it to life for me and I could feel this in my body deeply.  (Intense, brilliant, full of life, spirited, strong, clear) . . .  I want to bring this life to my relationships!  Whether it be in my family, friendships or community, I can feel the energy of spreading this energetic aura.

Finally, when it came to spirituality, and truly, my essence, I chose the word “vibrant.”  This was the last category listed in the workbook to spend time feeling into, and yet it is the one area that I believe encapsulated everything.   At my core; in my essence, I want to feel radiant, colorful energy that extends and connects with others.  I want to feel that secured coherence that comes from a vibrant and rich spiritual existence.

VIBRANT

This word became my anchor.  Within this word I could feel all the other words I had chosen come to life.  There is a beautiful freedom in feeling vibrant.  I can see this vibrancy lived out and offering me the feeling of being fluid as I honor my body.  I can sense the clarity that a vibrant lived experience can bring when it is radiating toward its path.  I can see the vivid color that it brings to my relationships and experiences.

And so there was my word for 2025

VIBRANT

As life unfolds in this year, this word will be my compass.  My desire is to come back to the feeling that this word gives me daily and envision the different areas of my life lived out in vibrant ways.  I cannot wait to see what this Vibrant year brings!
